The Death of Saturday Morning Cartoons

Standard

Remember climbing out of bed on Saturday morning, pouring a big bowl of Lucky Charms and camping out on the couch in your pajamas for cartoons? Well, those days are long gone. It was bad enough when they took away the Looney Tunes. But, at least we still had The Smurfs, Scooby Doo and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Now, there is NOTHING. Cartoons have been completely replaced with “educational programming”. Thanks a lot, FCC. Looney Tunes was educational. It taught classic lessons like “Don’t be an idiot!”

Nick provides horrible programming as well. Every show portrays the kids running the place and doing anything they can to disrespect the adults (and then laugh about it). So, we don’t want to expose our children to getting hit in the head with an anvil. Alright. But, should that be replaced with the introduction of slutty clothes, gossiping, drinking and bad acting? I guess I must be missing something. RIP Saturday Morning Cartoons. You will be missed.
